Knowledge of music is a plus, but not necessary for you to write your own songs. This lecture will help you create a song for a friend; share an experience that has moved you; tell a story of an interesting person or event; or express gratitude. Song Writing I will cover song inspiration and the desired feel of lyrics (words), chords and melody (tune). Basic song structure including introduction, verses, chorus and bridge are explained, including features of different genres of music and the characteristics of each.
