This lecture by Carlene Thissen explores the music catalog of Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez in the historical context of events that influenced their music and the impact their music had on culture and politics. These three vastly different women, who occasionally came together to sing, had varying goals for their music and different degrees of personal social involvement in the issues of the times.
